Site rules

Short version: share a genuine tip that helps other business owners. This is not a place to advertise.

Good tips

  • Are based on your own experience or professional knowledge.
  • Are specific and practical: what to do, what to avoid, and why.
  • Would still be useful to the reader even if they never visited your website.

Genuine tips, not sales pitches

Every listing must be a genuine tip: real, practical advice that helps other business owners. It must not be a sales pitch for your business, products or services. Your name, website and link are there to credit you as the author, not to be the point of the tip.

Examples of what counts as a sales pitch:

  • A tip whose main message is “use us”, “contact us”, “call today” or “visit our website”.
  • Prices, offers, discounts, promo codes or special deals for your own business.
  • Listing your services, features or benefits instead of giving advice.
  • Advice that only works if the reader buys from you.

If we decide a listing is a sales pitch rather than a genuine tip, we reserve the right to edit it, remove it, suspend or cancel the listing (including any featured upgrade) and refuse future listings from the same person or business, with no refund. The decision is ours, at our sole discretion.

Not allowed

  • Gambling, casinos, betting, adult or sexual content, escort services or dating/hook-up sites.
  • Get-rich-quick schemes, MLM recruitment, trading “signals”, unregulated investments or crypto promotions.
  • Anything illegal, hateful, defamatory, misleading or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Personal data about other people, or claims about named individuals or companies you can't back up.
  • Sales pitches or adverts dressed up as tips (see above), AI-generated filler, or copying someone else's content.
  • Links to malware, phishing or sites that impersonate others.

Removal

We can edit, hide, suspend or remove any tip at any time, at our sole discretion, including if it's reported by readers. If we remove or suspend a tip for breaking these rules (including being a sales pitch), the listing fee and any featured fee are not refunded. If we remove it for any other reason, we'll refund you. Voting

One upvote per person per tip. Using bots, multiple devices or paid services to inflate votes, click-outs or shares will get the tip removed.
