1. Who we are
business-tips.co.uk (“Business Tips”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Creative Filter Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 10014924). Contact: contact form or hi@business-tips.co.uk.
Payments are taken by Stripe Payments UK Ltd on our behalf. We never see or store your card details.
2. Posting a tip
- You must be 18 or over and have the right to publish what you submit.
- You keep ownership of your tip but give us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to publish, display, edit for formatting, and share it (including on social media and in our emails).
- Your tip must follow our site rules. You are responsible for its accuracy.
- Your name, social handles, website and logo are shown publicly. Your email and PayPal email are not.
3. Prices and payment
- The listing fee is shown before you pay and is charged in pounds sterling through Stripe. The price you see is the price you pay.
- The price includes, and takes account of, Stripe's card processing fees, which we pay out of the listing fee.
- The price may change over time. The amount charged is always the amount calculated by our server at checkout.
- Discount codes are single-use unless stated, can't be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn at any time.
- The reward code you receive after publishing gives 50% off one future listing and can be shared once.
4. Your right to cancel and refunds
A tip is a digital service that starts immediately. By paying, you ask us to publish straight away and acknowledge you lose the 14-day right to cancel once your tip is published. If there's a problem with your payment or listing, contact us and we'll put it right. Because Stripe does not return its processing fee on refunds, any discretionary refund may be less those fees, except where the law requires a full refund.
5. Listings
We don't guarantee any particular position, number of views, upvotes or click-outs. Links to your website are marked as sponsored. We may remove any listing in line with our site rules.
Listings must be genuine tips, not sales pitches for your business, products or services. If we decide, at our sole discretion, that a listing is a sales pitch rather than a genuine tip, we may edit, remove or suspend it (including any featured upgrade) and refuse future listings, without any refund.
6. Featured listings
- A featured upgrade costs £5 and pins your tip to the top of the homepage, and lists it on the Featured page, for 28 consecutive days.
- The 28 days start when your tip goes live (or, if it's already live, when payment is confirmed). If your tip is already featured, the new days are added on after the current period ends.
- It's a one-off payment. It does not renew automatically and we will never charge you again without you choosing to.
- Discount codes don't apply to the featured upgrade.
- Several tips can be featured at the same time; they're shown newest-featured first. We don't guarantee a particular position within the featured area.
- If we remove a featured tip for breaking the site rules, the featured fee isn't refunded. If we remove it for any other reason, we'll refund the unused days.
- After the 28 days your tip carries on as a normal listing and appears under “Previously featured”.
7. Tipping authors via PayPal
“Tip via PayPal” payments go directly to the author through PayPal. We are not a party to them, take no fee and can't refund them.
8. Content and liability
Tips are the opinions of their authors, not us. See our disclaimer. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
